Tsunami's
On March 27th 1964 (Good Friday) 75 miles of the coast of Anchorage a 9.2 magnitude earthquake occurred causing a major tectonic tsunami that reached from Alaska past the Western coast of the US to Hawaii. The tsunami had a run-up of 67 meters at Shoup Bay classified as a major tectonic tsunami destroyed most of the communities on Shoup Bay. It impacted the economy because the tsunami destroyed train depots, oil companies and farms around Port Valdez. When the tsunami hit multiple oil companies it threw barrels of oil around the coast setting fire to houses and farms. I effected infrastructure because after destroying five communities they had to be relocated to the edges of the port in fear of another tsunami striking the area and wiping out the town's again.
